Part of Hisar-Delhi national highway washed away

A portion of Hisar-Delhi national highway was washed away while several villages were flooded after a 50-feet breach occurred in the embankment of Sunder canal near Sorkhi village, about 40 km from here, today.
Traffic on Hisar-Delhi national highway was diverted via Mundhal, Bass, Badala, Bhatol Jatan and Garhi route and a huge chunk of farm land was also submerged following the breach, according to district officials.
Efforts were on to plug the breach, they said.
