Pati appointed new Odisha Chief Secretary

Odisha government today appointed senior IAS officer Gokul Chandra Pati as the new chief secretary and posted home secretary Vivin Kumar Saxena as special resident commissioner in New Delhi, an official notification said.

Pati, a 1978 batch IAS officer on central deputation since 2006, had been allowed by the union government to return to his state cadre on July 28. He was secretary, defence production in the ministry of defence.

He will replace 1979 batch IAS officer J K Mohapatra who has been posted as the secretary of fertilizer in the ministry of chemicals and fertilizer. Mohapatra had demitted office on July 25 to take up his central posting.
 

Odisha home secretary Vipin Kumar Saxena has been posted as the new special resident commissioner in New Delhi.

Home department will remain as additional charge of additional chief secretary (finance) Upendra Nath Behera. He will be in dual charges of home and finance departments, the notification said.
