Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Friday released the Odisha Hockey Mens World Cup-2018 anthem in the presence of music director A R Rahman here who has composed the music for it.
The lyrics for the Hockey World Cup anthem 'Jai Hind, Jai India' have been penned by well known lyricist Gulzar.
Rahman released the hook (dance) step for the official Hockey World Cup song.
He will perform at the opening ceremony of the Odisha Hockey Mens World Cup-2018 on November 27.
"Naveen_Odisha Ji Just released the #WorldCupHockey 2018 anthem," Rahman tweeted after meeting Patnaik at his residence here.
The Grammy and Academy Award winning musician was given a rousing welcome at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here and had lunch with the chief minister at his home, Naveen Niwas.
"The chief minister treated me like a friend," Rehman told reporters.
"I am glad to meet Rehmanji. He will perform in the opening ceremony of Odisha Hockey Mens World Cup-2018," Patnaik said.
Rahman will also perform at Hockey World Cup celebration at the Barabati stadium in Cuttack on November 28.
The internationally famed music director and singer took to the twitter to share the teaser video that features SRK and him.

He will shortlist two winners who will share the stage with Shah Rukh Khan and him at the opening ceremony of the Odisha Mens Hockey World Cup scheduled on November 27, officials said.
The music video of the event's anthem is scheduled to be released on November 25, they added.
