Patrol police save youth from being killed

: Timely intervention of a police patrol saved the life of a a 23 year-old youth from nearby Kodi,who was attacked by two persons at Ullal late last night.

Police said a patrol heard the cries of Naushad Hussein and rushed to the spot to see two persons attacking him with a sword.

Seeing the police, one of theattackers ran away while the other sped away on a bike, police said.

Naushad was on his way to a nearby samosamanufacturing unit where he was working when the assailantsstopped his bike and attacked him.

He confronted the attackers for a while whena police patrol rushed to the spothearing his cries and the attackers fled from the scene.
 

City police commissioner M Chandra Sekhar and othertop police officials visited the spot and investigations areon.

Police are keeping a strict vigil on the communally sensitive Ullal region in Dakshina Kannada district, police said.
