The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has summoned the Amritsar deputy commissioner on the charge of showing "careless attitude" towards the panel.

The panel had received a complaint from the residents of Madan Lal Dhingra Colony in Amritsar that the people of Kale and Ghanuupur villages, who got the sale certificate of plots in 2000, did not get possession till date.

The commission had sought a report from the competent officer till August 3, last year in the matter.

But even after repeated reminders, neither any representative of the deputy commissioner appeared before the panel nor was the report received, chairman of the panel Rajesh Bagha said.

This clearly shows the "careless attitude" of the Amritsar deputy commissioner towards the panel, he said.

Bagha said the deputy commissioner of Amritsar has been directed to be present in person before the commission on June 29.

The commission has also directed the divisional commissioner of Jalandhar to ensure the compliance of the panel's orders by the Amritsar DC, he said.
