People want more safety at stations and trains: Survey

People have given top priority for safety at railway stations and trains besides increase in the speed of the existing trains in a survey and wants it to be part of the Rail Budget 2016-17.

Deployment of trained RPF and GRP personnel on every platform, restricted entry at railway premises and monitoring of stations through CCTV surveillance are some other suggestions made by participants in the survey called Make Railways Better conducted by LocalCircles, a citizen engagement platform.

According to the survey, people have asked for modern instruments which could help the trains to run during fog or low visibility.
 

The survey was carried out involving 150,000 citizens, according to a release.
