Social activist Nutan Thakur today said she has filed a PIL in Allahabad High Court seeking CBI inquiry into the case related to the suspension of Noida Authority engineer-in-chief Yadav Singh.

In her petition filed before the the Lucknow bench of the High Court, Thakur said that Singh has been given "direct and indirect patronage" by politicians and bureaucrats and sought a CBI inquiry.

"It has been prayed in the PIL that the state government's inactions in this case are quite apparent. Similarly the direct and indirect patronage given to Yadav Singh by top politicians and bureaucrats in the period of Mulayam Singh, Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav are all too apparent. Hence any impartial enquiry in the matter can be undertaken only by the CBI," Thakur said.

In addition, it has also been prayed for appointing judicial enquiry committee under a retired judge to fix the responsibilities of the officers and to devise ways to stop recurrence of such episodes in future, she said.
