Plea in HC seeking probe against official on graft charges

A petition has been filed in the Madras High Court for setting up a special investigation team to probe charges of corruption and accumulation of wealth against a senior government official.
Hearing the plea, the First Bench comprising Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice M Sundar, issued notice to the official concerned- P Sivapriya, Registrar of South Chennai district and the state government and posted the matter to November 27.
The petition was filed by one Varaaki, founder-president of 'Indian Makkal Mandram,' in which he alleged that the official had amassed wealth.
