Hoping that India can continue to have good relations with Pakistan, Awami National Conference (ANC) today said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz victory is good for Indo-Pak relations.
"Nawaz Sharif's victory is good for India-Pakistan relations," ANC provincial president Gian Singh, told reporters here.
But, it may also be recalled that it was during Nawaz Sharif's government that Kargil incursions took place, he said.
Now, as Pakistan has had elections and India goes for general elections next year, a lot depends on the kind of regime India will get and what its attitude towards Pakistan would be, Singh said.
"We hope that the new government in Pakistan will not allow militant groups to mount attacks on India from there," he added.
