Two local BJP leaders were arrested today for their alleged involvement in the killing of a BJD councilor of Chhatrapur Notified Area Council in Ganjam district, police said.
Krushna Chandra Nayak and Duryodhan Reddy were arrested in connection with the murder of Laxmidutta Pradhan (35) on September 16, said SP (Ganjam) Asish Singh.
Nayak, a former CPI leader, had joined BJP about five months ago, along with Reddy.

"We have nabbed them from Odisha," said additional SP (Ganjam) A P Swain, without disclosing the place from where the accused were held.
"We will take the duo in remand for further probe," Swain added.
