Baltimore County police has said an armed woman who barricaded herself and a child inside a suburban Baltimore apartment was shot and killed by officers.
Authorities yesterday said that the child was shot in an extremity and taken to a hospital.
The department said in a series of Tweets that detectives went to the apartment in Randallstown about 9:25 am (local time) yesterday to serve an arrest warrant. Police say the woman named in the warrant was armed and had a child with her. It was not immediately clear the relationship between the woman and the child.
Police say the detectives retreated and called for backup. The department Tweeted at 5:13 p.M. That the woman had been shot and killed and the child was taken to a hospital.
