A police personnel was injured in a pipe bomb blast allegedly triggered by naxals in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Bijapur district today.
The incident occurred near a river under Mirtur Police Station area when a road opening party of security personnel, deployed between Mirtur and Fulgatta villages, was out on duty, a senior police official told PTI.
When security forces were on their way back to Mirtur, the rebels detonated the pipe bomb, causing splinter injuries to an assistant constable Veer Singh, he said.

As per preliminary information, rebels fled to the forest after setting off the blast. A combing operation has been launched to trace the attackers, the official said.
Reinforcement was rushed to the spot and the injured personnel shifted to Bhairamgarh hospital where his condition is said to be out of danger, he added.
