Delhi Police has registered an FIR against a man for allegedly posting a malicious video clipping on his Facebook account with the intention to promote hatred and ill will between different communities.

According a senior Delhi Police official, FIR in this regard was registered by Delhi Police's Economic Offence Wing (EOW) last evening under Section 153-A IPC and Section 66-A of the information Technology Act against one Vikram Patel.

The case was registered after police received information that an offensive video showing some militants belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) playing football with the severed heads of Pakistani security men has been posted by one Vikram Patel on his Facebook account.

"In order to mislead the recipients and cause offence to the Indian population, Vikram Patel had maliciously mentioned that the severed heads belong to Indian soldiers," the official said.

Police has written to Facebook authorities requesting them to block the offensive page and also provide the information related to the person who has set up the page in order to take necessary action against him, police said.
