A 33-year-old labourer was burnt to death in a massive fire that broke out at a toy factory here Wednesday evening, Delhi Fire Service officials said.

Baleshwar's charred body was found by firemen while conducting the dousing operation, the officials said.

The fire broke out at the factory in Mundka area in west Delhi around 4 p.m.

A total of 35 fire tenders were pressed into service and fire-fighters managed to douse the blaze after four hours.

Earlier, an officer said the labourers working inside the factory ran out soon after the fire started.

"It seemed that Baleshwar was trapped inside when the blaze started from the ground floor of the three-storey building," the officer said.

Police said the reason behind the fire may have been an electrical short-circuit.
