A case has been registered by police against the organisers of a youth mahostav on the charge of dishonouring the tri-colour in Odisha's Kendrapara district, the police said today.
The Maostav was organized on October 31 under the auspices of sport and youth affair department of the district administration, they said.
A complaint lodged in this connection charged that the organisers held a dance completion in which the participants performed on the floor with tri-colour thrown upon it.
"A case has been registered in this connection under Section- 2 (i), Prevention of Insults to National Honour (amendment) Act 2005. The matter is being investigated", said Kendrapara Police Station Inspector, Pramod Kumar Lenka.
