A police constable, who was arrested for drunken driving, was today suspended, a senior official said.
Constable Ankush Sanap, attached to the MHB colony police station in suburban Borivali, arrested for drunken driving while on duty, was suspended till impending enquiry, the official said.
A few locals spotted Sanap driving a police mobile van in a zigzag manner on the Western Express Highway near a temple in suburban Kandivali on Sunday night, he said.
They later informed the police who arrived at the spot and apprehended the constable.
He was booked under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act and the Maharashtra Prohibition Act, he said, adding a probe was on.
