A Polish woman has been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle into the country gold valuing Rs 2.25 crore at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) here.
The accused, who is in her mid 30s, was intercepted by customs officials after her arrival from Singapore here yesterday.
On detailed examination of her baggage andpersonal search, she was allegedly found carrying 8.8 kgof gold.

She had concealed the yellow metal in a specially designed belt, a senior customs official said.
The gold, which has beenseized by the customs officials, is assessed to be worth Rs 2.25 crore, he said, adding that the woman, who hails from Warsaw,has been arrested.
