Pondy viscom student selected for US Govt-sponsored course

A visual communication girl student of Pondicherry Central university has been selected for a documentary film-making course in an American university under a US government funded Community College Initiative Programme.

Suganthi Ramajayam, doing her final year in Visual Communications in the Community College of the university, would get scholarship for the one-year course in the Scottsdale Community College in Arizona, a release from Pondicherry University said here today.

She is among the 37 students selected through a competitive examination under the programme.

The student will undergo training in academic English, information technology, management, media, applied engineering, business, agriculture and hotel management.
 

The programme also provides leadership training.
