Power utility cashier shot dead, Rs 9.50 lakh looted

A cashier of Haryana power utility here today was shot dead by three miscreants who looted Rs 9.50 lakh from him near industrial area, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Anil Dutt. The miscreants, who were waiting in a car, asked Dutt to hand over the money to him when he came out of his office and was about to sit in government vehicle, police said.

The cashier resisted following which the miscreants fired shot at him and decamped with the cash amounting to around Rs 9.50 lakh, police said.

Police has sounded an alert and registered a case in this connection.
