President Pranab Mukherjee today condoled the loss of lives in an explosion in Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh.
"I am sad to know about the gas cylinder explosion this morning in Jhabua district in which a large number of persons have lost their lives and many others are injured," President Mukherjee said in a message to MP Governor Ram Naresh Yadav.
He called upon the authorities to provide all possible aid to the bereaved families as well as medical assistance to the injured.
"I am sure necessary measures will be taken to probe the cause of the incident and put in place remedial measures," he said.
At least 89 people were killed and nearly 100 injured today after a massive blast caused by mining explosives stored in a building ripped through a crowded area in Petlwad town of Jhabua.
"Please convey my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. I wish speedy recovery to the injured persons," he said.
