Prisoner escapes from police custody; 2 cops suspended in UP

Two policemen were today suspended when a prisoner escaped from their custody while undergoing treatment at a district hospital.
The prisoner, identified as Roopkishore alias Raju, was lodged in the jail in a rape case, Superintendent of district jail K P Tripathi said.
Yesterday, after Raju complained of severe stomach ache, he was sent to the district hospital. Constables Vinod Kumar and Parvin Bhati were also deployed.
However, this morning Raju was not found in the hospital, and some of his clothes were lying on the hospital bed.
Police said that Raju's mother is being interrogated.
