Prisoner flees from Tehatta jail

Hafizul Seikh (30) of Jalangi in Murshidabad fled from the Tehatta jail by breaking the ventilator of the prison bathroom last night, District Magistrate Abhinav Chandra said.

Hafizul was arrested on March 19, 2011 in a smuggling case from Karimpur in Nadia district, Chandra said.

The DM said a magisterial enquiry has been ordered into the incident. PTI COR
