Probe into non-utilisation of funds for cancer patients

The Jammu and Kashmir government today ordered a probe into non-utilisation of funds for cancer patients in a hospital in the city.

An inquiry into non-disbursement of money meant for free medication of cancer patients at GMC Hospital has been ordered by Medical Education minister Taj Mohiud Din, an official spokesman said.

The minister also ordered shifting of the concerned Head of the Department till the completion of the probe, he said.

The minister issued the directions during a surprise visit to the Regional Cancer Centre at GMC here following complaints from patients.
