Prohibitory orders imposed in Ghaziabad

Prohibitory orders have been imposed in the district by the administration ahead of festivals and competitive exams to maintain law and order, an official said.

The district magistrate, Ministhy S, in her order specified that no person will be allowed to convene a public meeting either at his home or at any open place without prior permission from a competent authority, district information officer (DIO) R B Singh said.

The orders under Section 144 of the CrPC have been imposed till June 30, he said, adding carrying of licensed weapons have also been banned.

The administration has restricted playing of loud- speakers between 10 PM to 6 AM, keeping in view the sensitivity of Ramadan, which will start on May 26, the DIO said.
 

Traditional processions can be carried out with permission form a competent authority, he said.
