Pugmarks of a leopard have been found near Shola falls area near the popular tourist hill station of Kodaikanal after two dogs went missing from a private bungalow a few days ago, forest officials said today.
A team of officials led by Forest ranger Nagiah collected the pugmarks yesterday.
The marks are that of a leopard which may be roaming in the area, he said. He had also received complaints about missing dogs.
Steps would be taken to fence the border areas of the forest to prevent entry of wild animals into residential areas, he said.
The security guard of the bungalow was the first to notice the pugmarks and inform the councillor after he found the dogs missing from there.
