Punjab Vidhan Sabha to organise 3-day workshop on agriculture

A three-day agricultural workshop being organised by Punjab Vidhan Sabha in association with UK based Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) will be held here starting October 29.

Delegates from the member of CPA of South East and Asia region including India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Maldives, Malaysia and Zimbabwe will participate in the workshop, said an official spokesman of Punjab Vidhan Sabha.

CPA is a group of 54 member countries and India is an integral part of this group.

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan will deliver the inaugural address of the workshop on October 29.

Speakers of other states' Assemblies, Parliamentarians and agriculture experts would also be taking part in the workshop, said the spokesman.
 

The aim of the workshop is to give a big push to parliamentary agriculture committees and hold discussions on current issues pertaining to peasantry and agriculture, he said.
