Union minister Jitendra Singh today said Rahul Gandhi's temple visits are an insult to the Indian voter.
At a meeting of the BJP's division level workers here, Singh said the Indian voter of 2018 is mostly a young voter who goes by reasoning and conviction and therefore, it is naive to think that he can be carried away by the tricks of the past.
It is a pity, he said, that Rahul Gandhi has refused to learn from the outcome of his visits to 29 temples during the Gujarat election campaign and is once again resorting to same failed strategy by visiting five temples in just two days.
Singh asked the party workers to win people's confidence by identifying with them.
He said his experience of elections in Gujarat, Tripura, Manipur and elsewhere had taught him that there was no longer any place for hypocrisy in public life.
