Rains bring respite from high humidity in Delhi

People in Delhi today received respite from the persistent humidity with showers drenching the national capital.

Humidity levels oscillated between 72 and 95 per cent during the day, as the day temperature hit 34.6 degrees Celsius on the mercury, two notches above normal, the Met department said.

While 1.8 mm rainfall was recorded over the last nine hours, the minimum temperature settled down to 25.8 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's standards, an official of the department said, predicting more rain or thundershowers for tomorrow.

"There will be rain or thundershowers in the national capital tomorrow. Maximum and minimum temperature are expected to settle around 33 degree Celsius and 26 degree Celsius respectively," the official said.
 

Yesterday, maximum temperature was recorded at 33.6 degrees Celsius, while minimum had dipped to 28.5 degrees Celsius.

Observatories at Safdarjung, Palam, Lodhi Road, Ayanagar and Ridge in the city recorded 9.6 mm, 28.6 mm, 6.2 mm, 23.6 mm and 18.2 mm rainfall respectively over the past 24 hours.
