The husband of a gram panchayat member of Mamliya was today found dead in a well near his house in Manadana town in the district, police said.
The family members of 32-year-old Rambharosai Meena have alleged that he was murdered. Police have lodged a case under section 174 of CrPC (unnatural death).
His body was found this morning in a well with no boundary wall in an agriculture field, about a kilometer away from his home, said Nand Singh, SHO at Mandana police station.

Meena's body was handed over to his family members after post-mortem examination by a medical board.
The deceased is the husband of Meera Nanhaimaa, a member of Mamliya gram panchyat from the BJP, the officer said.
He said Meena had left home yesterday at around 8 PM but did not return.
He is likely to have fallen into the well accidentally as it had no boundary wall but the family members are alleged murder, the SHO said.
The body bore only head injuries and had no mark of injury by sharp weapons on the body, he added.
