Rajesh lone Indian to win in WBC Oceanic undercard

Rajesh Kumar was the lone Indian boxer to come out triumphant among the four who competed in the WBA Oceanic undercard bouts held in Jinghong, China.

Kumar, competing in the superlight weight category, defeated Filipino Gabriel Roya in the event, which was attended by celebrated former world champion Evander Holyfield.

However, there was disappointment elsewhere with Mukesh Kumar enduring his first defeat in the circuit, going down to former WBC Asia champion Cristian Abila of Philippines in the featherweight division.

In the lightweight division, Sandeep Singh lost to local debutant Zelong Nie via a unanimous decision.

Pramod Kumar also lost to Chinese in Yan Jie in the welterweight category.
