Raman Singh hails scientists for successful Mars mission

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh today congratulated ISRO scientists as well as Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the successful placement of Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) spacecraft in the Red Planet's orbit on the very first attempt.

In his greeting message, the chief minister has lauded efforts of ISRO chairman Dr K Radhakrishnan, scientists and has also extended wishes to prime minister Modi, an official release said.

"Despite several challenges, our genius scientists have achieved this historic success. It was a proud moment for India as it has become the first Asian nation and fourth country in the world to enter the Mars orbit," the release quoted the chief minister as saying.
 

"With this mission, India has entered into a new age of space science. We are confident that our scientists will continue to touch greater heights in the field of space exploration," the release said.
