Red sand boa snake rescued, two held

The Telangana Forest Department today apprehended two persons for allegedly trying to sell a red sand boa, popularly known as a two-headed snake, online.
The accused had advertisied on the Internet that they had a red sand boa snake for sale.
Members of a city-based NGO approached the accused posing as potential buyers, and when the duo arrived at a hotel in Shamshabad area to strike a deal, bringing the snake along, forest officials nabbed them.
People shouldn't believe the superstition that these snakes have magical properties, a forest official said.
