Reese Witherspoon is ready to direct

Reese Witherspoon is keen to sit in the director's chair.

The Oscar-winning actress says directing is her next step.

"I've actually been thinking about it.I'm actually working on a project right now," she told E! News at Variety's Power of Women gala.

The actress has already turned producer with Ben Affleck starrer box office hit 'Gone Girl'.

She has also produced and is starring in the adaptation of Cheryl Strayed's memoir 'Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail'.
