Retired SP, wife found dead at home

A retired Superintendent of Police and his wife were found dead at their house near Palayamkottai here today.

The bodies of SP Mariappan (66) and his wife were found by their neighbours, police said.

The reason for their death was not known and police suspect that it could be a case of suicide.

Police said Mariappan's son, who had come from Germany recently, was at a relative's house in Coimbatore and his daughter lives in Chennai.
