Designer duo Riddhi and Siddhi Mapxencar brought the Japanese flavour on the ramp during the India Beach Fashion Week held in Goa.
"The collection has been inspired by Japanese gardens. They are known for their beauty and aesthetics. The floral (designs) in the garments are depicted in the form of embroidery," Riddhi told PTI about the collection.
"Also, stripes and houndstooth design weaved in garments depict the geometry of Japanese art which is used in tea house of Japanese gardens," she said after their recent show on Goa's Candolim beach where model Gauhar Khan was the showstopper.

"Garments (displayed in the show) were only made of natural fabrics like pure chiffon, crepe and georgette. The collection focused on occasion wear. Light weight saree-gowns, skirt ghagras, gowns and drape sarees were the focus of the collection," said Siddhi who has partnered with her twin sister Riddhi in the label 'mapxencaRS'.
The collection had outfits which a person or bride can wear for destination wedding, Siddhi said.
The IBFW exhibit of the designers was this time different from their past works.
"This collection was different in terms of cuts and silhouette. We made garments more relaxed and feminine. As it was a resort wear, the garments had to be flowy and comfortable for the wearer," she said.
Appreciating Gauhar, Siddhi said she is the perfect showstopper for their label.
"She is confident, independent and feminine. Our garments are edgy and she has that confidence to carry the look. We love the way she looked on the ramp," the designer duo said.
The Goa-born sisters said it was a great opportunity to do a show in their state.
"All our clients from Goa could also see our work on the ramp. We rarely do a show in Goa as we are based in Mumbai. This show really helped us to showcase our creativity in our hometown," Riddhi said.
The designers said that they want to start an affordable line for fashion enthusiasts in the near future.
