Orissa Mineral Development Company (OMDC) today said Rashtriya Ispat Nigam's CMD P Madhusudan has been nominated as its non-executive Chairman.
"P Madhusudan CMD, RINL, is hereby nominated as Director on the Board of OMDC and also as non-executive Chairman w.E.F. January 9, 2014, in place of A P Choudhary," the company said in a filing to the BSE.
Choudhary tendered his resignation from the post of Chairman with effect from December 31, 2013.
OMDC is one of the oldest iron ore mining companies in the country. Besides iron ore and manganese ore, it produces sponge iron. Its mines are located around Barbil in Keonjhar district of Orissa.
The shares of the company closed at Rs 2,281.70, down 3.45 per cent on the BSE.
