Refined soya oil prices rose by 0.50 per cent to Rs 717 per 10 kg in futures market today as speculators built up fresh positions amid pick up in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in December went up by Rs 3.55, or 0.50 per cent to Rs 717 per 10 kg with an open interest of 3,440 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in January was trading higher by Rs 3.55, or 0.49 per cent to Rs 728.75 per 10 kg in 43,760 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by participants on the back of upsurge in demand in the physical market against tight stocks position on fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly led to rise in refined oil prices at futures trade.
