Rourkela Steel Plant develops full-body sanitiser dispensing system

Press Trust of India Bhubaneswar

The Rourkela Steel Plant

(RSP) on Tuesday said it has developed a full-body sanitising system in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In view of the tough challenges being faced by the steel plant in preventing the highly infectious disease, a new full-body sanitiser dispensing system has been developed, the RSP said in a statement.

The newly-developed system consists of a pump, a spraying unit and a sanitiser chamber. All the components of the system have been arranged in-house with the help of different departments of the plant, it said.

An old and discarded pump unit with motor has been supplied by the blast furnaces mechanical department for the system while the four nozzles fixed in the system have been provided by the coke ovens mechanical department.

The system will be used at the traffic gate of the plant which witnesses a large footfall of employees and other stakeholders.
