The three municipal corporations in Delhi collected Rs 88,912 lakh as House Tax till the end of February for the financial year 2014-15, Rajya Sabha was informed today.
Among the three civic bodies, the south corporation earned Rs 47,000 lakh while the cash-strapped east corporation finished at the bottom of the list with a Rs 11,025-lakh collection.
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary said in a written reply that the north corporation collected Rs 30,887.39 lakh as House Tax.
He also gave the projected income through taxes for the municipal bodies for 2014-15.
The projected figures for South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) and East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) are Rs 1,04,295.71 lakh, Rs 1,38,916.82 lakh and Rs 33,765.16 lakh respectively.
He also gave details about House Tax obtained by the three civic bodies from Delhi villages during the current financial year.
