The certificates of honour have also been given to three Persian and three Arabic scholars and one to a Pali scholar on the occasion of Independence Day, said a government statement.
It said the award for Sanskrit scholar in the international category has been conferred on George Cardona.
In addition, the President also conferred the Maharshi Badrayan Vyas Samman to four Sanskrit scholars, one Persian and one Pali scholar.
