Sarpanch, police officer held in graft cases in Rajasthan

A Sarpanch and a police officer were today arrested in separate cases of graft by the Anti-Corruption Bureau in Rajasthan.

Shishupal, the Sarpanch of Tatasar Gram Panchayat of Sriganganagar district, was arrested for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs.10,000 to issue revised lease deed of a plot.

He had allegedly demanded Rs. 11000 but the matter was settled for Rs.10,000 and he was arrested today while he was accepting the bribe, IG ACB Dinesh MN said.

In Sawaimadhopur district, Assistant Sub Inspector Jokha Ram posted with Chauth Ka Barwara was caught by the ACB team of allegedly taking the bribe of Rs.8,000.
 

He had allegedly demanded the bribe from the complainant to remove his and his wife's names from an FIR.

A cash of Rs.78,500 also allegedly recovered from his room, Dinesh said.

Both the accused have been placed under arrest under prevention of corruption act.
