An 11-year-old girl who was on her way to school was allegedly attacked by two unidentified persons on a motorbike with a knife, in nearby Tirupur district today, police said.
The student, daughter of a mill worker, was proceeding to her school in Nambipalayam when the duo came on a two-wheeler and attacked her from behind, they said.
The girl sustained injuries on her neck and has been admitted to the Government Hospital in Avanashi, some 40 kms from here.
Further investigations are on, they said.
