The outgoing chairman of SDMC's standing committee today claimed the civic body earned "surplus revenue" in the year 2015-16 despite facing financial constraints.
"One of the major achievements during 2015-16 was to make the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) revenue surplus local body by Rs 308 crore despite Delhi government providing it Rs 796.76 crore which was Rs 210 crore less than its entitlement," standing committee's chairman Radhe Shyam Sahrma said.
He said the civic body earned Rs 42.5 crore through advertisement revenue despite removing all wall wraps and roof top publicity materials to make the civic area neat and clean.
The target of internal income of the SDMC in 2016 was Rs 1,788 crore and it was achived through generating Rs 1,778 crore that was almost close to the target, he said.
