Security to famous temples in Tamil Nadu, including the Sri Meenakshi temple here, has been tightened following threats to attack them, officials said.
Some letters written in what is suspected to be Afghan language, threatening to attack some temples, have been received at Chennai, officials said.
Tight vigil would be maintained, officials added.
