Gautam Budh Nagar District Magistrate B N Singh has directed the education institutes here to set up anti-ragging boards and committees and helpline within three days.
He told the institutes to submit an action taken report to him and asserted that incidents of ragging would be taken seriously.
The DM said education institutes which have already set up the boards and committees, should make those active at the earliest.

Colleges have been directed to provide contact numbers of the district administration, the police and the district inspector of schools to the students so that they need can contact them for help.
The district magistrate has also directed the colleges to check drug abuse among students and any information about drug peddlers should be given to the police immediately.
D K Garg, a representative of the Consortium of Self Financed Management Institutions, said, "Anti-ragging mindset has to be developed among the students from school level itself to check the menace.
