Seven members of a family from Kerala, including two children and two women, were killed today when their car collided with a lorry at Chattirapatti, about 40 kms from here, police said.
The family, hailing from Kerala's Thrissur district, were proceeding to Velankanni when the driver of the car overtook a lorry without noticing another lorry coming in the opposite direction resulting in the collision, police said.
While five of them died on the spot, two women died at the Government Hospital.
The deceased were identified as Alex, Johnson, Isaki, Daniel, Jisu and Lisi and Jeena.
