A number of bills would be tabled in the West Bengal Assembly for discussion and passage during the week-long session which will begin from September 18.

Talking to reporters after an all-party meeting in the Assembly premises, Speaker Biman Banerjee said these bills would be on health, education and municipal corporation.

Banerjee said during the meeting he had appealed to the members to cooperate in the smooth running of the House.

"Sometimes the members do not listen to their leadership. We want peaceful business in the House," he said, adding, members representing all political parties have agreed to maintain peaceful proceedings in the House.

On suspended Diamond Harbour Trinamool Congress MLA Dipak Haldar, who was arrested on Monday for his alleged involvement in a clash in college and released on bail later, Banerjee said he has not received any letter from the party on his suspension.

Asked about TMC MLA from Raniganj Sohrab Ali, who was on September 8 sentenced to two years' rigorous imprisonment by an Asansol court on charge of theft of railway iron scraps, the Speaker said, "I have not yet received any order from the court. I will not make any comment on this".
