Shopkeeper held for alleged molestation

Police today arrested a 23-year-old man from Bhiwandi in the district for allegedly molesting a minor girl.

Police sub-inspector Yogita Kokate of Narpoli police station said the girl, resident of Gundavali, had gone to the shop run by Arvind Kumar Shivnath Rai, the accused, to buy shampoo sachet yesterday when he allegedly molested her.

He was arrested for molestation under the IPC as well as for offences under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
