Shortage of staff in RNI

"RNI conducted circulation verification of 58 newspapers during the period from October 2010 to July 2012. The circulation verification activity of RNI has been suffering due to shortage of manpower/staff," Minister of State in Information and Broadcasting Ministry C M Jatua told Rajya Sabha in a written reply.

The minister also said 82,222 newspapers and periodicals were registered with RNI as on March 31.
