Silver prices fell by 0.38 per cent to Rs 36,425 per kg in futures trade today as traders reduced their positions, tracking a weakening global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in May month declined by Rs 138 or 0.38 per cent to Rs 36,425 per kg in business turnover of 3,540 lots.
Likewise, the white metal for delivery in July contracts traded lower by Rs 128 or 0.35 per cent to Rs 36,875 per kg in 41 lots.

Traders said offloading of positions by participants on the back of a weakening global trend as investors weighed the outlook for US interest rates before a speech by Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen mainly kept pressure on silver prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver lost 0.6 per cent to USD 15.14 an ounce in Singapore.
